Got a question? We’ve probably been asked it before, so here they are. If you have a question, post it in the comment box below and we’ll answer it.

Are you the army?

No. They would be these people.

Everyone's gonna be much fitter than me at my first class... :-(

That depends on how unfit you are, but this is much more about getting stuck in. Sure, we all used to be rubbish (except the instructors) and everyone starts at the back, but that’s where the start is at Boot Camp and there’s no shame in that whatsoever – be positive! Read about the bib system to learn more.

What sucks is when somebody comes along and just gives up after five minutes and goes home – that is rare though. If you think that’s you, you need a gym that serves coffee and cake.

Can I store my stuff when I'm at class?

Sure. Put any clothing and bulky stuff in the van or instructors car. Put valuables in the valuables bag which we carry with us during the class.

How many classes do I need to do to get some effect?

We recommend twice a week to maintain your fitness and stamina. Any increase on this will cause you to lose weight if you are on a diet.

How much is Boot Camp?

About this much.

How long does a class take?

Every class is 60 minutes long.

Do you do a class in ____________ ?

No.

Can you start a class in ____________ ?

That’s entirely possible, but we need to have numbers up front before we start. If you manage to start a group of about 20 or so people for day one, we’ll certainly see if we can help out. It does depend on location and other factors, but there’s no harm in asking. Contact us for more information.

Can I go to classes in other parks or mix up where I go?

Sure. You can go to any class in any park you like.

Will I get shouted at?

The simple answer is no. We don’t shout at people because you are not in the army, so there’s no need to shout. The only reason we raise our voices is so we can be heard by everyone if needed.

Do I need to bring water or drinks?

No, our instructors carry all that.

Is the first session free?

Yes.

Do your training sessions run through the winter months?

Yes. Classes are only cancelled if there’s been a nuclear war in east London.

Do you do corporate work / days out?

Yes. We can organise a company day Boot Camp / team building and the like, no problem. Contact us for more information.

Do you do free work for TV companies in return for publicity?

BWAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! No. We do charge normal rates for instructor hire though. Contact us for more information.

And finally, questions from members of the hard-of-thinking community. These are normally sent by email to info@armybootcampfitness.co.uk.

I got an 80% discount via GroupOn. Can I have the first class free as well?

Yeah sure, and the keys to Mo’s car are over at his Mum’s place if you want to pick them up and there’s a dozen free iPhone 4s waiting in the Apple Store on Regent Street store for you.  Just tell them Mo sent you.

Do you have a web site?

No. We keep all our info on punchcards in a phonebox in Kings Cross.

I'm too busy to read your website, can you send me information about Army Boot Camp Fitness?

Sure, no problem. We’ll come ’round your house on Monday and clean the windows and clear the gutters too.

Do your training sessions run on religious festival days, e.g. Christmas Day, Diwali, Hanukkah, Eid etc.

Cancel a class for organised religion? Are you serious? If it’s on the timetable, it’s on. We’ve only ever cancelled 2 classes since 2006 and that was because of extreme snow with all roads closed.

Hi, i would like to come to your Thursday training session at Wanstead Park. Can you tell me the exact meeting point and how much the session will be?

    Many thanks

    Joanne

  2. Hey Morgan

Viccy Park isn’t on the front page of the website – makes it look like there isn’t a class there. Any chance of adding it in? (Thought maybe its spot might have been replaced by the info about Holland Park…)

    Cheers

    • Hi Rachel,

That’s a very fair point. I did think that when I re-arranged the front page to put all the place holders but that’s just the design of the page. I suppse we could adjust the front page to do that, or, maybe do a ‘Where we operate’ page instead and link to it from there, not sure.

I daresay Mo will mail me and tell me what he wants!

Anyway, thanks for letting me know. We do try to keep up with all your input, even here in rainy Bremerton in Washington state in the USA.

Much love & thanks for getting in touch,

      Morgan
