Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th June
Hi everyone,
Here we have a super duper weekend of walking and camping to the beautiful Snowdon National Park. The plan is for two days of quality walking in some stunning countryside including an ascent of Wales’s highest mountain – Snowdon.

Us in Wales at Pen Y Fan in 2007
We will be having a BBQ on Saturday night followed by a few songs round the campfire with young Jim accompanying on his guitar. Interested? – here’s a few more details.
Transport and departure
Meet at the usual RV point for Victoria Park – Royal Gate West, opposite the Inn on the Park, on Lauriston Road.
We are planning on leaving at 6.00pm sharp on Friday 3rd June and have arranged a mini bus, so we will all be able to travel up together.

The trip up there will probably be uneventful.
It is a bit of a flog up the scenic M1 and then the equally scenic M6 but will be totally worth it once you get there.
Walking
We are hoping to climb Snowdon on the Saturday and the route we take will be dependent upon the weather.

Walking in Wales...

and sitting in Wales
In all likelihood we will take the Pyg Track (In blue on the map) up and descend via the Miners Track (In green on the map) which is about 8 miles and takes 5-6 hours.

If people are up for it, we could also look at doing the Snowdon horseshoe (Orange) which includes the famous knife edge ridge of Crib Goch. Sunday, will be a bit more casual and the route dependant on how people are feeling but will probably involve a shorter walk from the campsite.
Accommodation
We have booked a beautiful campsite, within walking distance of Llanberis. The website is www.campinginllanberis.com. It’s on a working farm and is fairly chilled out. We are allowed BBQ’s and also campfires, so it will be great fun. If you haven’t got a tent don’t worry, we should be able to organise someone for you to share with.

Mo and Jim are planning on heading up a bit earlier so don’t worry about pitching your tent in the dark, cos they will do it for you.

Camping in June will be just awesome!
Food and Drink
Mo has been his usual amazing self and has offered to sub the food for the trip. So here’s what he’s said he’ll provide: a basic breakfast (ie cereals, tea, coffee), lunch (sandwich, fruit, crisps) and mountain munchies for the two days with an amazing BBQ for the Saturday night.

Cooking under canvas - nothing beats it.
You will need to bring your own booze and there are supermarkets in Llanberis. Let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
Equipment
Here are some essential and not quite so essential things to take on the hill.
Wanna come?
The trip is open to all signed up members of boot camp regardless of bib colour. If you are worried about whether you are fit enough then have a word with Young Jim or alternatively go to more classes.
Partners and friends are very welcome to come but priority will be given to existing members.
The cost of this is a bargain £50.00 per person and there are only 15 places so you need to get it booked now!
This event has sold out!
If you have any questions, then please email Young Jim on info@armybootcampfitness.co.uk or post the question on the page below and we’ll publish the answer too.
Who’s going?
Here’s the list so far. That’s 9 and there’s 15 total. We’ll be sold out shortly.
